





Microfilm and Photocopy
This section is responsible for the production of microfilm copies and photocopies of public records and library materials, either for preservation or, for research and reference purposes
The preservation of records through microfilming and copying services accomplishes two main targets;
• To prolong the lifespan of documents through microfilming of archival records, newspapers serials and manuscripts
• To make them easily accessible for researchers
The unit also provides copying services to researchers at a minimum cost.
The holdings of the Microfilm section consists of:
- Fiji Times: 1869 – on-going
- Births/Deaths/ Marriage Records for Fijians, Europeans & Indians (1875 – 1960)
- Records of the Lands Claims Commission
- Henning’s Papers
- Records of the Methodist Mission of Australasia (1835 – 1970)
- Pacific Islands Monthly (1934 – 1956)
